We'd like to backtrack a bit with some postings as we start this blog, but it will probably be sporadic for a bit. In the meantime, we figured that today's musings would be probably be as good as any place to start, so here's our official (but probably not entirely thrilling) first posting:
It's so cold again outside! I think we hit a high of 6 today, but it felt much cooler with the wind. We woke up to a skiff of snow is all; weather is supposed to be about the same, if not colder, throughout the weekend. Brrr!
Kalvin had school off today. Xander and Talmage went to preschool though. Matt needed to do some dental work on Kalvin so that he will be ready for braces next month! The kid toughed it out really well (no cavities--just gum surgery), so we let him play video games tonight to his heart's content. He hasn't played in about a month, so he thought it was a pretty sweet deal. We just hope he isn't cursing us next month when he starts the ortho and his mouth gets uncomfortable! Poor kid.
Xander and Talmage are really managing to team up these days. Xander seems to have this thing about taking his clothes off as soon as he gets into the house. Not to be outdone, Talmage joins right in. Tonight was no exception. Oy. What silly little boys! The two of them are constantly chasing each other around the house. Kalvin joins in too, but we'd have to say that the little ones are definitely the "spitfires" these days.
The Strawhouse, our new dental building, is now in the bidding phase. It is a remodel project, so it is anticipated that it will be completed by mid-June. Part of the building is going to be available for rent for business meetings, luncheons, wedding receptions, etc. We're really excited about seeing all of it come together soon. The history behind the name: It is made of straw. Seriously. The bones of the building consist of posts and beams, but the insulation and walls are all straw. The building was originally a grocery store! Yeah, we're having fun with this...
