We Have Gutters!

Probably not what most people get excited about, but it's a big deal for us! We've been in our house just over a year now, and every time it has rained or the snow has melted, there has been just torrential sheets of water falling on us, the deck, etc. Yeah, we're pretty happy about those gutters...

The weather here has been so pleasantly "un-winter" the past couple of weeks, and yesterday was no exception, with temperatures in the 40's. The boys had a great time running around our yard, throwing rocks, chasing each other, sitting on the tractor, and just doing little boy things. Kalvin tried riding his new bike as well. He is going to need some more practice on it, but is sure excited about learning!

Our garden could use a little help right now

Matt decided to let the boys have a little extra fun in the afternoon. Fun involving red and black pens and toenail polish. Seriously. All three kids sat on the floor by Matt and drew and painted with nail polish. On Dad's feet. Seriously. Remember the saying about making sure that you have clean underwear on in case you are somehow involved in a major accident? Matt made the comment that he had better clean his feet sooner than later! Funny thing is, I just asked him about it--he HASN'T taken it off yet!

How many dads would ever let their kids do this to them?

We also drove over to a lake near our house. It is totally frozen right now, the ice showing snowmobile and fishermen boot tracks everywhere. The kids kept asking why they couldn't go out onto the ice, so we didn't stay too long. But we did get some pictures, and we were able to watch some of the fishermen getting ready to catch some fish.

In other news--We have the bids on our new business building! We've chosen a contractor and just need to get final preparations done to start the remodel. Time to go to the bank to get a construction loan! We're hoping to have it all completed by mid June. It still seems kind of surreal. We've been talking about a new building for the longest time. Matt is so looking forward to more space...
