SUPERBOWL SUNDAY...

Which means lots of food in our house. In fact, it is more important (gasp!) than the game. But I do admit, the last quarter of this bowl was certainly attention grabbing. It looked like Arizona might actually pull a rabbit out of the hat at last minute. All in all, a good game. And a (few) good commercials. We liked the Bridgestone Potato Head one.
We invited our friends over to watch the game and pig out with us. They have two boys and a baby girl. The kids had such a blast playing together that they hardly ate. The adults, however, ate nonstop! Matt and I had so many new recipes we wanted to try, and we went a little overboard with the food. We had:
  • homemade cheese straws
  • Swedish meatballs
  • hot wings
  • 7 layer dip
  • shrimp cocktail
  • jalapeno ranch dip
  • queso/chili dip
  • beef brisket
I also found a great recipe for a chile blackberry syrup for mixing drinks. Very different, and oh so good. Especially with fresh lemonade and club soda.

We had a nice surprise from Talmage during the night as well. I was holding Baby S when he walked into the room. He was so excited to see the baby that he plopped right down on the rug and said that he wanted to hold her. He didn't show any signs of jealousy when he saw that I was holding her. So we let Mr T hold Baby S, and ended up with a cute picture. He thought it was just awesome to hold her. And it really was.
